Thanks to everyone who came out to our recent Grand (Re) Opening to celebrate the exciting relaunch of Heywood! If you’ve come by, you already know about our two new additions to the menu: our Inside-Out Grilled Cheese Sandwich, featuring cheddar grilled on the outside of the bread, creamy fontina melted on the inside, and an artisan bruschetta spread. We also want to thank our friend Joy the Baker for curating our limited-time special, a delicious Pickles and Brie gourmet creation!

If you’re attending the Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational on April 20th, please make sure to come by and say hello as we will be serving all day!

Finally, we would really like to thank Jessica and Jonathan at disregarden for being the creative force behind our new look. Disregarden is a husband & wife design team specializing in the gathering & restoration of unique, storied objects. We are so thankful for their support!

Hello, friends! Just a couple of updates here at Heywood – all things to get excited about!

1. Due to popular demand, our late hours will now extend to THURSDAYS, too! Supposedly Thursday is the new Friday, so we are now open until 3am Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Grilled cheese is the perfect night-cap, wouldn’t you say?
2. In case you missed it, we offer local, freshly-baked, gluten-free bread AND vegan options. All of our bread is vegan, and our top-of-the-line Daiya vegan cheese goes great in any of our sandwiches.
3. We deliver! That’s right, now you can treat everyone in the office to grilled cheese! They will love you and you will finally get the respect you deserve. Just visit LAbite.com to place your order and we’ll take care of the rest.
4. Or, let us come to you! We now have on-site catering options available. Whether you’re looking for wedding catering that will truly inspire your guests, or your boss just pinned the entire holiday party on you, call us and we will work to make your next event worry-free (and super delicious).

Well, we’re coming up on one month since officially opening.  It has been…well…a whirlwind.  We have made lots of new friends, have had lots of fun, are starting to see familiar faces, and most importantly have learned a lot.

What we’re really saying is THANKS.  Thank you for coming in, enjoying the food, making suggestions, and telling your friends.  We hope to see you a million more times!

Based on feedback from all of you we have made the following changes:

• Extended hours (late on weekends)
• Added another grill (Since everything is made to order we are working to reduce wait times)
• Have designated a new area for prepping and cooking all Vegan orders
• You wanted cheese??  We increased the amount of cheese in every sandwich!
• Expanded our menu to include more options!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by yesterday to welcome us to the neighborhood. We’re going to have some expanded hours for TODAY ONLY, opening at noon and staying open late for the bar crowd. Come by between noon and 2am and enjoy selections from our limited menu as we prepare for our grand opening!
